Asian black bear (Selenarctos thibetanus) Hanoi, Vietnam. This bear has a paw missing, probably the result of a snare or trap. A 50 ml syringe is used to extract bile from the gall bladder. Bears are kept to provide bile which is used in Traditional Asian Medicine
