Ache
The Ache (pronounced Achay) are a small, indigenous population of hunter-gatherer people in Eastern Paraguay. Until first peaceful contact in the 1970s when almost half the population died from contact related epidemics, the Ache lived a nomadic lifestyle, the forest meeting all their needs. Now living in permanent settlements they still undertake extended treks into the forest, hunting by traditional methods.
