Handling
This vole, wild born offspring of captive bred animals released the year before, has been trapped at a site in Kent as part of a long-term study. After being weighed, micro-chipped and checked for breeding condition it will be released where it was caught. Water voles have a strong bite and sharp incisors so heavy gloves are necessary for handling.
