BiographyTerry
With a background in zoos, wildlife conservation, research and eco-tourism projects in the UK, Canada, South America and Asia, Terry's photography stems from a deep interest in man's relationship with the natural world.

He believes that creative photography is a valuable tool in raising awareness of wildlife conservation issues but that it is important to present a balanced and realistic perspective, even if the images are difficult to view and even harder to sell. Terry works with a range of conservation and animal welfare NGOs, landowners and wildlife researchers around the world. He relies almost entirely on the kindness of strangers (apologies to Tennessee Williams).

Recent work includes the wildlife trade in Asia, endangered primates in Vietnam, water vole conservation in the UK and the wildlife of New Zealand. He is also experimenting with Trailmaster camera traps to photograph behaviour of shy and nocturnal animals.

Terry's work has been published in a wide range of international publications including: BBC Wildlife, Geographical, Wildlife Conservation, International Wildlife, Ranger Rick, National Geographic Kids, New Scientist, The Guardian and The Independent.

He was the principle photographer for Wildcats of the World by Mel and Fiona Sunquist. Commissioning clients include Knight Piesold (Canada), Severn and Trent Water (UK) and Free the Bears Fund (Australia).

Terry's photography is represented internationally by leading photo libraries: FLPA (UK), Photo Researchers (US), Auscape International (Australia).

Leah Garces of animal welfare charity WSPA said of an image from a bear farming assignment: "Congratulations on that photograph - it really caused quite a stir in Vietnam as I'm sure you're aware. People who saw your photograph were inspired to write letters directly to the government. I think it helped to change the mood in Vietnam on this issue."
