Terry has been a freelance environmental photographer since 2000 following a career in zoos and wildlife conservation around the world. Specialising in the relationship between people and nature, commissions and personal projects include the Asian wildlife trade, endangered primates in Vietnam, urban nature and wildlife habitat restoration in the UK. He grew up on the outskirts of Manchester playing in woods and fields, just as they were disappearing beneath urban sprawl.
He is a member of 2020VISION, an ambitious multimedia project to demonstrate the importance of healthy ecosystems to our own wellbeing.
Terry has formed productive working relationships with various NGOs including: Free the Bears (Cambodia and Vietnam), Fauna and Flora International, (Vietnam), RSPB (UK) , Whale and Dolphin Conservation (UK), Wildwood Trust (UK) and many individual researchers and wildlife workers.
His images and stories have been published regularly worldwide in BBC Wildlife Magazine, Geographical Magazine, Time Magazine, National Geographic Kids, Ranger Rick and most UK national newspapers. His Images have been used in a wide variety of media including: books, scientific journals, apps, wildlife trade information posters and Prodigy's best selling CD, Fat of the Land (leafcutter ants).
His work has been recognised in major competitions with category wins and several highly commended images in the British Wildlife Photography Awards, European Wildlife Photographer of the Year and highly commended in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
